SPATIAL JUSTICE AOTEAROA ADVOCACY
SJA advocates for more just, equitable, and sustainable cities and communities. We contribute to policy debates, provide expert evidence, and work alongside communities and organisations to advance spatial justice outcomes at local, regional, and national levels.
Our advocacy draws on our research and practice, ensuring that the arguments we make are grounded in evidence and lived experience. We are experienced in submitting to policy and planning processes, providing expert witness evidence, and engaging with media and public audiences on issues of urban equity and spatial justice.
Central to our advocacy is a commitment to intergenerational thinking — the planning and design decisions made today will determine the cities and landscapes our mokopuna grow up in, move through, and call home. We advocate for decision-making frameworks that take that responsibility seriously, ensuring that short-term pressures do not override the long-term wellbeing of people and place.
